Stefan Edberg was honored in a Gold Medal tribute commending his 1984 Olympic Games success.  The always entertaining John McEnroe made a surprise cameo in the ESPN Broadcast booth when he stopped by to watch Tommy Haas defeat Marat Safin. 

For the second night in a row, Presenting Sponsor Farmers Insurance Group launched their hot air balloon high above UCLA's campus.

Thursday

Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg, John Isner, Marat Safin, and other ATP stars held autograph sessions, while Tournament Staff celebrated Chris Guccione’s birthday in the players lounge. 

Mardy Fish met Hollywood star Will Ferrell Thursday night at the LA Tennis Open, soon after Fish had saved three match points to defeat Australian Chris Guccione.

Sharon Stone was also present for the second round thriller.

Wednesday

Ryan Sweeting, Ross Hutchins, Jesse Levine and Robert Kendrick headed to the Playboy Mansion Wednesday Afternoon courtesy of Tournament Sponsor Venice Magazine. 

While the boys toured the infamous grounds, Jim Courier, Stefan Edberg and Michael Chang took the site by storm.  Michael Chang signed autographs at the Tennis Warehouse while Jim Courier and Stefan Edberg battled on Stadium court. 

Before their first round match, the Bryan Brothers signed their official adidas match t-shirt for the winner of the "Dress The Bryans" survey contest.

The Bryan Brothers showed their entertainment skills as they bartended at the Aces Bar and Lounge while Ryan Sweeting met with USTA Members at their annual Member Appreciation Night.

Down the walkway, the always jubilant Dmitry Tursunov signed autographs with fans.

Before his evening match on stadium court, Marat Safin joked with LA Tennis Open Tournament Staff at the players desk, answering phones and taking messages before edging out Robby Ginepri in three sets.

Taylor Dent and Justin Gimelstob kicked off Monday morning early on Stadium Court showcasing Quickstart Tennis Live on KTLA's Morning News.

Marcos Baghdatis gave a behind the scenes tour of the iconic Sunset Marquis Hotel for the Tennis Channel.

Pete Sampras held a press conference before he took Stadium Court to play against Marat Safin, where he lost 3-6, 6-4, 6-10.

Sampras was joined on court by his extended family for 2009 LA Tennis Open Tournament Honoree Ceremony.
