LOS ANGELES - The Farmers Classic will come to a rocking close the day after the 2010 champions are crowned when the LA Tennis Center plays host to "
KLOS Rocking the Net Starring Bret Michaels" to benefit the Southern California Tennis Association (SCTA) on Monday, August 2.
Michaels was the front man for the legendary rock band "Poison," and sold 25 million records and scored 15 Top 40 singles with that band. Recently, he starred in "Rock of Love," one of the most successful programs in VH1 history, and he was the winner of NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" this past season.
A new solo album by Michaels called "Custom Built" will be released on July 6. It will be his fourth solo effort. In addition, later this year Michaels will release his autobiography called, "Roses and Thorns: The Rock 'n' Roll Fantasy to My Reality."
Proceeds from "KLOS Rocking the Net Starring Bret Michaels" will benefit the youth tennis programs of the SCTA.
"We're very excited that an artist like Bret Michaels is willing to help us with our ongoing efforts to provide more opportunities for children in Southern California to get involved with tennis," said Tournament Director Bob Kramer. "This is one of several unique events we have planned around this year's Farmers Classic that allows us to put the community first while also hosting a world class event."
Tickets for the concert will go on sale through TicketMaster beginning at 10 a.m. PDT on June 12.
"KLOS Rocking the Net Starring Bret Michaels" on August 2 is the second of two concerts hosted at the LA Tennis Center around the Farmers Classic. Keith Urban and the Avett Brothers will perform on Friday, July 23, as part of the Starry Night Benefit Concert Presented by the GRAMMY Foundation.
